As always on Diwali, we, the Shri Ramites, said a firm, “No,” to firecrackers and made the right choice.
We renewed our pledge to celebrate the festival of lights in an eco-friendly way. The Paryavaran team and representatives from Forms IV and V participated in an within the school and in the neighbourhood. The children, through their bold and colourful posters, gave a clear message to passers-by, parents, grandparents, children, bhaiyas and didis about the harmful impact of crackers on the environment and on our health. Diwali is a festival to spread cheer, not air and noise pollution.
The Form IV children went a step further and spread this environment conscious awareness to the local community when they performed a delightful Nukad Natak at Galleria Market. They chose the perfect time when the market was beginning to fill up with shoppers who stopped by to catch a glimpse of the rhythmic and insightful Nukad Natak. The children also carried beautiful posters with the message, Say No to Crackers.
Sensitivity to our environment is an integral part of our core values. As environment conscious citizens, we always take this responsibility seriously, especially when we celebrate festivals.
Wishing you a very happy and eco-friendly Diwali!
