The children of the Environment Consciousness Club, celebrated World Wetlands Day by visiting the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary on 2nd February 2019. Every winter, more than 100 migratory bird species arrive at Sultanpur, in search of feeding grounds. Mr Ajit Eusebius, an expert and keen birder, guided the children during the walk.

The children also attended an Awareness Talk conducted by Mr Ajit in school, the previous day. This was an invaluable session and it oriented the children about the different birds they were likely to sight on their trip. It also equipped them with key terminology that would enhance their knowledge and understanding about birds.

Children carrying their binoculars and cameras, were able to capture mesmerising moments at the park. In addition to this, the children came away with a sound understanding of wetlands and their key role in providing the perfect habitat and breeding ground for birds.
